Employability Programme Manager

I enjoy working as part of the Employability Team in SBC because it gives me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of organisations and people.  A large part of my job involves acting as a broker between businesses and the public sector, with a particular emphasis on schools.  The job is hugely rewarding and it is particularly satisfying to see young people becoming more confident and enthusiastic
towards their futures.

My role has a great deal of variety and constantly throws up personal challenges such as playing charades with a group of school pupils to highlight the need for good communication skills – I dare you to mime being an irate chicken to your colleagues.

One of the great joys is watching the representatives from the businesses convey their enthusiasm for their job to the pupils and the confidence that grows when they realise that the practical advice
