Hi,  I’m Bob and I am responsible for SBC’s activities in Glasgow.  I joined SBC in 2008 having previously worked in both the voluntary the public sectors.  In the past I have been involved in a wide range of projects and initiatives that have looked at all aspects of learning and skills development.  I am currently involved with SBC in preparing people for employment.  In particular I am encouraging businesses to get involved in helping young people about to leave school by providing them with a range of employability skills.  Employers are ideally placed to provide these crucial skills; those that are involved also see their employees’ participation as something that develops them as individuals and has a positive knock-on effect for their business.  Like my SBC colleagues, I firmly believe that, even in difficult times, responsible businesses can find that little bit extra time to help those that need it most.
