Tom Campbell is Chief Executive of the North Highlands Initiative (NHI). The NHI was formed as a direct result of Prince Charles's involvement in bringing together the farming community, local businesses and the tourism industry to try to address some of the challenges facing rural communities in the far north of Scotland by creating a powerful regional identity for the area through marketing.
Tom has extensive, high level experience as a strategist, negotiator, and communicator across a range of roles straddling both private and public sector – in particular in the areas of property and regeneration. Through his business achievements, Tom has become highly regarded by policy-makers.
As well as his current role Tom has worked at Chief Executive level in two other organisations – heading the North Lanarkshire regeneration company Fusion Assets and also the successful Lennoxtown Initiative for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which saw a £7 million regeneration project delivered.
He also served as lead Director for the Kirkintilloch Initiative, and was Head of Property Management for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde managing a property portfolio of £150 million, handling deals of up to £30 million. In total, Tom managed land disposals with development values in excess of £600 million, and as a result was asked to Chair the NHS in Scotland’s review of its £2.7 billion property estate.
When not working Tom, a triple graduate from Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities, has a keen interest in athletics and helps in the development of some of Scotland’s brightest young sportsmen and women.
