Job Coaching
What is Job Coaching?
Job Coaching is a challenging personal development opportunity.
It involves pairing up with an unemployed adult to help support them with their CV, application form, interview skills and constructive feedback.
The aim is to build their confidence and assist them with the process of applying for work or moving to a positive destination.
The role of a coach is centred on the needs of the participant, so you will work with them to identify what they feel they need from you and work to help them recognise and achieve their objectives. This can be a highly rewarding exercise in itself
What are the benefits of becoming a coach?
- Develops more effective communication, management and interpersonal skills
- Develops your ability to have challenging yet constructive conversations
- Builds confidence and motivation for you and the participant
- Personal satisfaction; direct and positive contribution to the development of someone who has experienced being long term unemployed
- Develops your people skills and relationship building
- Develops feedback skills
What will you need to do?
Coaches will need to commit to a period of 6 months. Following a one day training you will meet with the participant on a regular basis approx once every two weeks.
What Support do coaches recieve?
- A one day training session, which is delivered by SBC
- Ongoing support and an open invitation to Coaching Forums where you will have the opportunity to discuss your progress with your SBC Co-ordinator as well as sharing your experience with other Coaches
