Skills based volunteering includes educaitonal based activites, where staff work with young people in schools, and also activities designed to help the long-term unemployed gain the skills and confidence necessary to return to work. It takes a variety of forms including mentoring young people, providing training schemes, short and long term work placments, job coaching, running workshops on CV/interview skills and behind the scenes visits.
