Recently eight volunteers from SQA visited Hillpark Secondary School to assist 50 pupils with employability skills. The volunteers assisted pupils with personal statements and each pupil had a mock interview.
Feedback from pupils, teachers and volunteers was very positive and all who attended felt that they had gained from the experience.

“The employability session provided me with valuable information on how to prepare a personal statement and how this information can be used during an interview. The mock interview helped me most as this was the first time I have participated in an interview. It was good having a business person carrying out the interview as it built up my confidence more. I would happily participate in similar events.”

“To assist these students and hopefully make an impact is great. Even if it’s just a small thing that they pick up on if it sticks with them and assist’s in their future then that’s all that matters.”
