SBC in partnership with Learning and Teaching Scotland are running a pilot Number Partners programme in Scotland. Number Partners is a volunteering scheme that brings together business volunteers and schools, working collaboratively to improve standards and literacy.
Number Partners has been running for over five years in England. In 2001, Dresdner Klienwort Wasserstein, Educational Communications, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, HSBC, KPMG LLP (UK) and Tower Hamlets Educational Business Partnership, working together with Business in the Communtiy and count on, formed a consortium which lead to the National Number Partners scheme. The consortium has since been joined by Unilever, Watson Wyatt, Brittania Building Society and the Moddy's Foundation. The Number Partners consortium supports the delivery of this pilot Number Partners programme in Scotland.
