Increasing the capacity of our young people to enter the workforce and continue to build the Scottish economy is a key priority for SBC, our members and the Scottish Government.
Scotland’s future depends on young people with positive attitudes and good core employability skills. To achieve this, SBC believe our members and the wider business community have an important role to play in helping to develop the skills in young people and constructively affect their future.
Many of our members are actively involved with local schools and youth agencies to help prepare young people for the world of work and inspire them to progress to a positive post-school destination. There is a particular focus on those young people who are at risk of or who are currently not in employment education or training. Engagement with schools and young people has brought substantial professional and personal benefits to staff and businesses and strengthened their Corporate Responsibility Agenda and community involvement.
