Report Back 2010 - Open Now!
|
HRH Prince of Wales has written to every member of the Mayday Network asking that they report back the progress they have been making on their low carbon journey towards a sustainable future.
The report-back process is an extremely important part of Network membership because:
1. It reconfirms commitment from UK businesses to continue to heed the Mayday distress call and take concerted, committed and significant action towards tackling climate change, together.
2. It enables SBC to report back to HRH, the wider Network and the nation as to how businesses are progressing. By reporting quantitatively we are empowered to monitor progress to reduce emissions contributing to a greater understanding of how the UK can move towards its national targets.
3. The process enables exciting case studies from around the country to be captured and shared. Inspirational stories of the ways in which Network businesses are rising to the challenge and successfully reducing emissions whilst making profits and enjoying other business benefits are pivotal to the nation’s efforts in moving to a low carbon economy.
What does it mean for my business if I don't report-back?
To challenge The Prince's Mayday Network businesses, and drive them to continue to take action, Scottish Business in the Community requests that they report-back annually on the progress that they have made against their steps on the journey.
In return, those businesses that report-back against, as a minimum, measuring and reporting their carbon emissions) will be entitled to use the Prince's Mayday Network 2010 logo. The logo communicates that a business has taken the preliminary step on a journey which can lead it on to reducing its carbon emissions.
Therefore if your business does not report back to Business in the Community it will not be eligible to use the latest Network logo.
