The CCBDG’S overriding objective has been to help reduce carbon emissions from Scotland’s business community. This will be achieved by:

• Providing strong and visible leadership to Scotland’s business community to inspire them to do more to reduce carbon emissions.
• Challenging each other to do more and go further to tackle climate change, and become industry leaders in our respective sectors.
• Sharing experiences and success in reducing carbon amongst the Group, but more importantly sharing best practice more widely throughout the Scottish economy.
• Using the groups influence to challenge and persuade others – including Government and the public sector – to continually improve Scotland’s response to the threats of climate change.
• Promoting the unique role that Scotland as a country can play in becoming a world leader in sustainable and renewable technologies and establish Scotland as a centre for low carbon innovation.
