The Small Business Consortium is a collaborative venture between the following organisations: AccountAbility, Arts & Business, British Chambers of Commerce, Business in the Community, CSR Europe, Federation of Small Businesses, Forum of Private Business, Institute of Directors, Lloyds TSB, Scottish Business in the Community, BT and Serco.
The aim of the Small Business Consortium is to speak with one voice on responsible business practice for SMEs, raising the profitability of small businesses in the UK by encouraging, developing and supporting social, environmental and community best practice in business.
The Consortium uses existing resources, networks and tools to disseminate clear, jargon-free information about the benefits of responsible business practice (CSR) to business advisers and small businesses themselves. Additionally, the Consortium has created an online guide, “Small Business Journey”, and published a case study booklet in pdf and hard copy formats – “Better Business Journey”.
