Law firm McGrigors has won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) firm of the year award at the Scottish Legal awards.

Law firm McGrigors has won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) firm of the year award at the Scottish Legal awards.

Main recognition for the company came for its Horizons programme, which is its support of charities and pro bono work.

Kirk Murdoch, senior partner of McGrigors in Scotland and chairman of the Horizon steering committee, said: "As a prominent Scottish business it is our duty to support charities which we feel can have the greatest impact."

He added that all staff were encouraged to become involved in the programme and "use their skills for the benefit of those worthwhile causes".

McGrigors has been involved in a long term project, called the Mark Scott Foundation, which brings together young people from different backgrounds across Scotland.

Employees from the firm are also involved in Project Scotland, where they are mentors for 16 to 25-year-olds.

McGrigors says the value of the 3,776 hours of voluntary work from staff and the donations the company has made totals £341,597.

The firm has recently expanded its practice by launching a UK wide private equity team.
