Greener Shopping: Retail and Climate Change

Today (Wednesday 10th October), a group of Scotland’s leading businesses will meet in Edinburgh to discuss the challenges faced by the retail sector in tackling the issue of Climate Change.

Companies attending the Working Lunch, hosted by Scottish Business in the Community (SBC) and Alliance Boots, will hear from speakers including Richard Ellis of Alliance Boots , John Murray of the Energy Saving Trust and Ged Ward of First UK Bus.

They will be asked to discuss the challenges, responsibilities and impact they have on the environment and share practical solutions to the issue.

Scottish Business in the Community is committed to encouraging its members to take a lead on managing their carbon footprint. In four weeks time, they will hold the first May Day Business Summit on Climate Change at The Hub, Edinburgh.

The Summit will bring together over 100 of the country’s top business leaders and will mark the beginning of a business-led movement for increased action on climate change. Companies invited to the event included SBC member companies and Scotland’s Top 500.
