Business Opportunities with the Strathspey Railway.
The Strathspey Railway Company in the Cairngorm National Park is a significant Highland and Scottish tourism business which needs new blood to help its growth, direction, management, marketing and fund-raising between 2011-20 to complete the extension from Broomhill to Grantown of Spey along the track of the original Highland Line. There should be commercial opportunities for some businesses.
We need to increase management capability and performance at all levels to have any chance of raising financial support for this £5m investment project. While we would welcome financial contributions, responses to the following opportunities are even more critical to our long term achievements:
• Replacement chair for SRCT from 2011
• Membership of strategic and project boards
• Membership of fund-raising team
• Membership of marketing team
• Patrons
• Business networkers & ambassadors
SRC is a member of the Cairngorms Business Partnership (the Destination Marketing Organisation) and the Cairngorms Attractions Group through which much of its marketing is attempted, so it is about much more than marketing a heritage steam railway!
The Rails to Grantown website www.railstograntown.org has a Business button that provides a summary of the project, for which financial forecasts are available to interested parties.
