Quality Scotland Corporate Citizenship Awards

Halcrow Group has received the Corporate Citizenship Award for innovation at the Quality Scotland Scottish Awards for Business Excellence 2010, following their success at Scottish Business in the Community’s Sustainable Scotland Summit.

Standard Life was also successful, receiving the prestigious Corporate Citizenship Award for sustainability at the annual ceremony held in Glasgow’s Luxury SAS Radisson on Tuesday 22 June.

The Scottish Awards for Business Excellence are the most rigorous and prestigious business awards in Scotland. Open to any Scottish organisation from the private, public or voluntary sector the awards are recognised across the UK and Europe as a mark of outstanding Business Excellence.

Halcrow Scotland, like the group worldwide, has as a purpose to sustain and improve the quality of people’s lives.  Corporate Citizenship is embedded in our business, and, along with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement, has enabled Halcrow Scotland to be constantly innovative in its approach.”

Halcrow Group has adopted a number of sustainable practices including Halcrow Scotland’s Sustainable Travel Plan, where the company has taken an active and creative role in developing and implementing solutions to bring real benefits to business, environment and the community. The plan also resulted in the organisation being awarded Scottish Business in the Community’s Sustainable Travel Award at the Sustainable Scotland Summit in June.

Corporate Citizenship for sustainability winner, Standard Life has established and successful approach to Corporate Responsibility that supports sustainable development. For example their award winning programmes and projects are delivered through a strategy of quality and continuous improvement. Graeme McEwan, Group Director of Communications said: “Standard Life established it’s first community policy back in 1992.  Our approach is to work in partnership to create programmes and projects that are long-lasting and have positive outcomes for everyone involved, including our people in Standard Life”.
