Lawyer raises the bar as Prince’s Ambassador
Robert Carr has been appointed by HRH, The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay as his Ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility in Scotland.
Mr Carr, who is Chairman of Anderson Strathern, pledged his commitment to corporate social responsibility at his official appointment.
BT Scotland Director Brendan Dick handed over the Ambassador’s baton to Robert at the Scottish Business in the Community Awards for Excellence ceremony on Thursday 11th June.
Mr Carr said, “This is a great honour for me. It is fundamental to all that we do at Anderson Strathern for us to act in a way which is socially responsible in our workplace, our marketplace, our environment and our community.
“I look forward to building on the fantastic work of my predecessor, Brendan Dick and helping demonstrate to Scottish business the value of engaging in CSR.”
Chief Executive of Scottish Business in the Community Jane Wood said, “Robert’s profile in the legal sector, with partnerships in many sectors in Scotland and his role representing CSR for SME businesses is vital to SBC’s business strategy for the coming year. We are delighted to welcome him as HRH’s Ambassador for CSR in Scotland.”
The annual Ambassador Award acknowledges the achievements of an outstanding individual who has shown leadership and personal commitment to responsible business practice.
Previous Scotland Ambassadors include Susan Rice CBE FRSE, Chief Executive of Lloyds TSB Scotland and Sir Robert Smith, Chairman of Weir Group and Scottish and Southern Energy.
Robert is Chairman of the Law Society of Scotland's Rights of Audience Committee and also their Professional Negligence Accreditation Committee. He is a member of the Law Society of Scotland's Medical Negligence Accreditation Committee.
