Lloyds TSB Scotland was named SBC's Large Company of the Year at a celebration dinner held in the Glasgow Hilton.  Additionally, the Bank’s service to foreign national customers was recognised with a ‘Big Tick’ Award.

Susan Rice, a former Prince of Wales Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Ambassador for Scotland, was thrilled with the achievement, saying,

We are tremendously proud to win the SBC Large Company of the Year Award.  We have long believed in the value of reinvesting in the communities in which we do business – the value to us as a business as well as to the communities themselves.”

The prestigious award recognises the Bank’s leadership in corporate responsibility and the positive impact the business has on the community.  The judges said Lloyds TSB Scotland “showed strategic fit between business objectives and CSR with clear outcomes and achievements.”

Corporate responsibility is integral to the way Lloyds TSB Scotland does business and among the activities and services that contributed to this success were:

  • Support for social enterprise – including Social Investment Scotland and Bridges Ventures
  • Sponsorship and support for youth, the arts and sport – including Young Scot which Lloyds TSB Scotland has partnered since 2005
  • The extensive involvement of Bank staff in the community, often in leadership roles that address the social and economic agenda in Scotland

Lloyds TSB Scotland also received a re-accreditation of an award won in 2007 for its services to Polish and other foreign national customers.  SBC Awards for Excellence reward companies with a coveted ‘Big Tick’ for the positive impact their responsible business activities have – Lloyds TSB Scotland’s award was in the marketplace category.

The award recognised the continuing innovation in the Bank’s Polish and foreign national offering, including Polish-speaking staff in key branches, the Silver Account and a dedicated Polish call centre team.
