NAB tops 2008 CDP Climate Disclosure Leadership Index

23 Sep 2008

Today the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) released the results of its 2008 survey - CDP6.

NAB has been listed amongst the highest scoring companies in the Global 500 in the CDP ‘Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI)’, ranking highest (with a score of 98% alongside Barclays, Merrill Lynch & Co., Munich Re) amongst non-carbon intensive companies.

This is the first time since 2004 that NAB has been listed in the CDLI. NAB was the highest scoring Australian bank (ANZ and Westpac were included in the Index with scores of 97% and 95% respectively). The CDP recognises companies for their leading climate change disclosure and governance practices.

This result is a significant achievement (our score has increased from 75% in 2007 to 98% in 2008) which reflects the work that has been undertaken across the Group to deliver on our Climate Change Strategy and carbon neutral commitment.

The CDP is the largest institutional investor coalition in the world: it has more than 385 signatory investors, with a combined asset base of $57 trillion USD. The CDP 6 request was sent to over 3000 companies world wide, including the Global 500.

NAB Group is a signatory and member to the CDP, as well as a respondent.
