Halcrow become members of SBC

29 Feb 2008

Halcrow, one of the UK's leading engineering and infrastructure consultancies, is delighted to take up membership of Scottish Business in the Community. This follows a successful year working with SBC in local schools as part of Glasgow's "Closing the Gap" initiative.

Halcrow's purpose is "sustaining and improving the quality of people's lives". Its Scottish offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness see membership of SBC as a further opportunity to demonstrate this commitment.

Jamie Baxter, Halcrow's Regional Director for Edinburgh commented "We are very keen to build on the successful work already undertaken by colleagues in Glasgow working with SBC. We have strong links with universities in Scotland and are delighted to bring opportunities, through SBC, to young people at an earlier stage when they are beginning to consider their future"

"In the north of Scotland, we are looking forward to working  with SBC and building on activities started last year" added John Walker, Halcrow's Regional Director for Inverness.

Halcrow's work with SBC in 2007 included involving school students in design projects, providing careers advice and hands-on experience of advanced engineering design.

SBC look forward to working with Halcrow in the future.
