THREE Edinburgh organisations and a company from North Berwick have been rewarded for being among the most environmentally friendly in Scotland.
They have been named winners in the Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) awards, unveiled at an awards ceremony in Glasgow last night.
The Capital's four-star Apex Hotel in the Grassmarket, the five-star Radisson SAS Hotel on the Royal Mile, tour operator Rabbie's Trail Burners and the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick were all presented with awards in recognition of their commitment to helping the environment.
Gillian Bruce, chair of VIBES, said: "All of the finalists showed fantastic commitment to reducing their environmental impact and involving staff and the wider community in their initiatives."
Apex Hotels previously picked up an award for its Apex City Hotel, and Jo Harbisher, environmental director of Apex Hotels, said: "It is a real honour to receive this prestigious award for the second year running."
