Sodexho Strengthens Status as Leading CR Focused Company

10 Jul 2007

Sodexho has achieved silver status in the UK’s leading benchmark for responsible business scoring a 5% increase on last year’s total, achieving an overall index figure of 80%.

The index evaluates companies based on their management practices in four key areas of corporate responsibility - community, environment, marketplace and workplace. All companies that take part are required to provide supporting evidence to substantiate their application and are issued with a feedback report.

Business in the Community launched its Corporate Responsibility Index in 1996 to help companies benchmark their performance.

Tim Lucas, corporate responsibility manager said: “Our position in the Index is testament to the hard work of our staff and their commitment in this area. We are delighted to have achieved silver status this year and will be pushing through further initiatives that will enable us to improve our performance”.

Sodexho had further reason to celebrate this month as they also announced the publishing of its second CR Report. The 68-page document outlines objectives, timescales and actions across key CR issues such supply chains, diversity, health and well-being, community investment and the environment.
