Dell Scoops Scottish Business Award for Customer Focus
14 Sep 2007
Dell has won the Customer Focus award at the 2007 National Business Awards for Scotland. The prestigious award, which was presented last night at a ceremony in Glasgow, rewarded the organisation that best demonstrated that it has the customer at the heart of its business.
Dell was up against stiff competition in the category, with finalists including financial services firms Scottish Widows and Intelligent Finance. Organisations entering the Customer Focus award were required to show how they manage resources to most effectively meet the needs of its customer base. The National Business Awards for Scotland celebrate organisations that have introduced new ideas for efficiency, productivity and businesses processes
Director and General Manager for Dell Scotland, Charles Quinn, said: “The Dell Scotland team is thrilled to have won the award for customer focus. 2007 is only Dell’s second year in Scotland, so it’s fantastic to have our good work and commitment recognised. We’ve shown that Dell as an organisation is 100 per cent focused on its customers, and this success is thanks to our team of dedicated and motivated customer service staff here in Glasgow.”
Dell currently employs over 800 people in its Glasgow business centre and supports corporate customers in the public and private sector.
Now in their fifth year, the National Business Awards for Scotland reward the cream of Scottish businesses, large and small, in 14 different categories. Judges are drawn from leading businesses, business schools, government, public and private sector organisations and think-tanks.
