27/11/08 - SBC West Lothian: Procurement Awareness Workshop

SBC West Lothian has identified that community organisations often find it difficult to fund or access areas of expert knowledge and as many of these organisations are becoming social enterprises and/or employers, it is important that they understand their legal requirements, and in so doing, adopt good practice.

The Managment Training Programme is designed to ensure that managers, management committees, and Boards of Directors have the guidance and expertise to be quality employers.   The four key programmes for this period are:  Human Resources, Health & Safety, Procurement and Financial Management for non Financial Managers.

The training that SBC West Lothian provides, continues to be supported and resourced by both Public and Private Sector organisations in West Lothian and through this commitment we will continue to provide the training free of charge.

Procurment Awareness Workshop

The aim of the session is to raise awareness of what will be expected of you when you tender for work with West Lothian Council. By attending this awareness session you will hear about the council's Procurement Strategy, where to find contract opportunities, the tender process, the insurance requirements and how to submit a compliant tender.
