Grampian Community Benefits from Business Donations

25 Jul 2007

This week, the Aberdeen-based Community Food Initiative – a charity providing food to disadvantaged groups in the Grampian region – received the final batch of some 40 computers recently donated by oil giants Total Elf and Acergy to local community organisations across Grampian.

As part of its ongoing mission to identify and meet the resource needs of community projects, Scottish Business in the Community (SBC) acted as a broker between the businesses and community groups involved to facilitate these donations.

Among the other community groups who benefited from this project were Aberdeen Drugs Action, Mental Health Aberdeen and the Grampian Society for the Blind.

Alex Gauld of SBC Grampian said “The donations by Total and Acergy has had a huge impact on the community organisations receiving the computers.”
