Saint Roch's Secondary School Career Carousel

Over 180 Second Year pupils from Saint Rochs Secondary School in Glasgow took part in an S2 Options Carousel on 6^th February, organised by SBC’s Glasgow based Closing the Gap initiative.

The event was intended to allow pupils to meet local Glasgow employers, find out about the industry that they represent and help the pupils choose the options they would like for S3 and S4. Each employer also stressed the importance of positive attendance and behaviour records as well as the academic qualifications they look for when recruiting.  They day was action packed and fun, with pupils having the chance to get a little “hands on” experience as well as gather information from the employers.

The event was supported by Halcrow; Laing O’Rourke; North Glasgow College; The Chartered Institute of Bankers; Social Work Training; Royal Navy; Local Community Police; Stow College; Army REME; McGrigors; Central College of Commerce – Hair, Health & Beauty and University of the West of Scotland.
