Saint Roch's Introduction to Industry Career Event

Primary 7 pupils from the Saint Rochs New Learning Community got a taste of work on 21^st June at an “Introduction to Industry” day held at their school.  The pupils were split into groups of 8 and each group got to spend 15 minutes with employers from 12 different sectors, finding out about working within that industry as well as taking part in a hands-on activity. 

A very enjoyable, action packed morning saw the pupils taking part in a team building exercise, designing and constructing buildings with Laing O Rourke, learning about health and beauty products with Alliance Boots, using surveying equipment with Halcrow, designing and making mosaic tiles with North Glasgow College.  Others who supported the event were:-  Strathclyde Community Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, CIOB Financial Education Partnership, Dog’s Trust (and Donny the rescued dog), Army Careers Service, Royal Marines Education Service, Greencity Wholefoods.
