COURSE OBJECTIVE:

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Illustrate the business benefits to colleagues and decision makers within the organisation
  • Relate the key elements of CSR to colleagues in the workplace, with an understanding of the history and context of corporate responsibility
  • Build upon their role within the organisation to ensure CSR activities are embedded into core business practice.
  • Understand how external factors will contribute to the changing role of Corporate Social Responsibility


Session 1: Introduction and welcome

  • What does Corporate Social Responsibility mean to you 

Session 2: Current activities and Business Benefits

  • Learn from peers on the course about what CSR activities they are undertaking and how these are positioned within the business.
  • Identify the business benefits attached to CSR, in particular how having a robust CSR strategy is more important now than ever before in helping your business save money and make the most market opportunities.


Session 3: History, Context and the Changing roles of Sectors in today’s economy

  • Where does CSR come from? Is it a fad that will be over before its begun?
  • What is the context in which CSR has risen to prominence? What are the global drivers that are acting as catalyst in its rise to business and social importance?

Session 4: Sustainability and CSR

  • What is sustainability and how does it link with CSR?
  • What does it mean to be a responsible enterprise?

Session 5: Practical scenarios to aid active understanding

  • SBC has captured a huge amount of learning from our member companies over the years.
  • Use these learning to help ensure active understanding within your business.
