Chief Executive - Samantha Barber

Sam 2007Samantha started her career working in the European Parliament in Brussels for nearly four years as a policy advisor for the ERA group on the Economics and Monetary Affairs Committee. She returned to Scotland in January 1998 to take up the post of Director of Business for Scotland.

Samantha joined Scottish Business in the Community as Chief Executive in May 2000 and has a passionate belief in the power of Corporate Social Responsibility to bring about economic and social change for Scotland.

Samantha qualified in Applied Foreign Languages and European Politics from the University of Northumbria in 1992. She also spent three years studying at the Universities of Orleans, Nancy and Dijon gaining several French qualifications including a post-graduate degree in EC Law.
